Linisher belts are abrasive sanding belts designed for use on a linisher (also called a belt grinder or belt sander). They are used to remove material quickly, smooth surfaces, shape edges, and prepare finishes on a wide range of materials.

The grit determines how aggressive the belt is:

  • 40–60 grit – Coarse; rapid material removal.
  • 80–120 grit – Medium; general sanding and surface preparation.
  • 150–240 grit – Fine; smoothing before finishing.
  • 320+ grit – Very fine; polishing and final finishing.

Different abrasives suit different applications:

  • Aluminium oxide – General-purpose abrasive for wood and metal.
  • Zirconia alumina – Tough, long-lasting, ideal for heavy metal grinding.
  • Ceramic – Premium abrasive for stainless steel and high-pressure grinding.
  • Silicon carbide – Best for glass, stone, plastics, and non-ferrous metals.
